Safari Beach LodgeAn advantage of Senga Bay is its close distance to Lilongwe airport. Rather than spending a night in the busy capital Lilongwe you can spend the last day of your holiday at a beach of Lake Malawi. Out of a couple of mid-range lodges in Senga Bay, the Safari Beach lodge seems to be the one that suits the needs of the visitor best. Most guests enjoy their stay in the so-called gazebos, small comfortable chalets built right on top of some rocky hills a couple of meters away from the waters of Lake Malawi, offering beauitiful far views over the lake. The lodge has got its own private beach as well as a swimming-pool. Good meals are served in the lodge's restaurant.Just outside Senga Bay are the fish and crocodile farms to be visited.
Namalikhate Lodge at Mua MissionThis mid-range lodge is run by the Mua Mission. The clean and comfortable rooms come in an interesting design; meals are simple but good. The reasons to come here are the museum, the art gallery, the hand-craft shop and the church, which are all within walking-distance from the lodge. Please click here for more information about Mua.
Zomba Forest LodgeThis mid-range lodge has got only four rooms, all en suite, a beautiful flowery garden with an evergreen forest right behind the lodge. Excellent meals are served. The guest will enjoy the rather private and relaxed atmosphere in this place that seems to be the best option for the tourist in either Zomba and on the plateau.

Njobvu Cultural Village LodgeThis interesting place is situated just outside Liwonde National Park along one of the access roads. The idea of the lodge is to allow foreigners an insight view on the daily life of Malawian villagers. You spend the night in an original local hut, make use of an original local bathroom, one of the local people will show you the village and fields and explain details about culture, work and daily life. In the evening a dance group will perform traditional dances. In contrast to the other village that we visit on our tours, the Msane Village, the services offered at Njobvu Village are commercialised. The hut and bathrooms are in the style of local huts and bathrooms, but they are only reserved for the use of visiting guests. While at Msane Village you share the facilities of the local family.A visit to Njobvu Village can easily added to any tour that visits Liwonde National Park.
Msane VillageMsane Village is some 7 kms outside Nkhata Bay. The idea of a visit here is to join a local family in their home for half a day, join them on their meals, share their facilities. This is probably the cloest a foreigner can get to the real life of local Malawian villagers.Although here you will not find anything commercialised, you do not need to fear to disturbe the family that you visit. They are used to these occasional visits and enjoy them a lot. The family has close relations to Budget Safari. A highlight might be the visit to a true traditional African healer.A visit to Msane Village can easily added to any tour that visits the northern lakeshore of Malawi.
